If Nancy Meyers Had A Fall Amazon Cart

Okay, so I went down a rabbit hole this week looking at Nancy Meyers interiors (as one does 😂), and I think I figured out what’s actually going on in them. Nothing is too seasonal. No orange, no overly harvest anything. It’s just good lamps and soft sweaters and a few things that happen to be fall colored. So, I went through my Amazon list with that rule and pulled the ones that pass.

Lamps throughout the house. I think this is the whole thing, honestly. Not the overhead lights, just lamps on at two in the afternoon for no reason. Add a hurricane on the counter and a candle burning somewhere and the whole house shifts, and none of it looks like fall decor. It just feels like October.

The wardrobe. The main character dresses like her house looks. A chambray button-down, a cozy cardigan, a striped sweater, all of it soft and a little oversized and none of it trying very hard. That’s why she always looks like she belongs in the room.

What’s on the table. Dinner table, entry table, the one by the sofa. Neutral dinnerware that plays nice with the vintage pieces you already have, a stack of linens, and stems in a heavy vase. Dusty burgundy, dried grasses, something with a little texture to it. All of it reads fall without announcing it.

Then everything else. A chunky throw, a chair you can actually sink into, artwork you’ve had forever, a basket holding whatever needs holding. None of it is fall exactly, it’s just layers, and a layered room reads warm no matter what month it is. That’s really the whole trick.

It’s all in one list over on my Amazon Storefront, so take a look around if you want to see the rest.

enjoy the season,
